Serotonin syndrome is a possibly fatal syndrome that can be caused by Ortrip. Your risk may be greater if you take Ortrip with certain other medicines (eg, "triptans," MAOIs, SSRIs). Symptoms may include agitation; confusion; hallucinations; coma; fever; fast or irregular heartbeat; tremor; excessive sweating; and nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Contact your doctor at once if you have any of these symptoms.
Some people may be at risk for eye problems from Ortrip. Your doctor may want you to have an eye exam to see if you are at risk for these eye problems. Call your doctor right away if you have eye pain, vision changes, or swelling or redness in or around the eye.
Ortrip may cause you to become sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to Ortrip. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time.
Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Ortrip before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
Lab tests, including blood cell counts, may be performed while you use Ortrip. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
Use Ortrip with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially confusion, blood pressure changes, and irregular heartbeat.
