What is FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet

FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet helps reduce cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. High levels of these types of fat in the blood are associated with an increased risk of atherosclerosis (clogged arteries).
FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet is used to treat high cholesterol and high triglyceride levels. It is sometimes given together with other cholesterol-lowering medications.

FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet side effects

In rare cases, FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. Stop taking FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet and call your doctor right away if you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness especially if you also have fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine.
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

sharp stomach pain spreading to your back or shoulder blade;
stomach pain just after eating a meal;
nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice ;
pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in one or both legs; or
chest pain, sudden cough, wheezing, rapid breathing, fast heart rate.

Less serious side effects may include:

headache, dizziness;
back pain;
joint pain;
diarrhea, upset stomach; or
cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat.

Usual Adult Dose for Hyperlipidemia:

The following adult dose recommendations are only for FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet marketed as the trade name FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet :
Mixed Dyslipidemia treatment therapy coadministered with an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin): 135 mg orally daily. For convenience, the daily dose may be taken at the same time as a statin, according to the dosing recommendations for each medication. Coadministration with the maximum dose of a statin has not been evaluated in clinical studies and should be avoided unless the benefits are expected to outweigh the risks.
Severe Hypertriglyceridemia:
Initial dose: 45 to 135 mg orally once daily.
Maintenance dose: Dosage should be individualized according to patient response, and adjusted if needed following repeat lipid determinations at 4 to 8 week intervals.
Maximum dose: 135 mg orally once daily
Primary Hyperlipidemia or Mixed Dyslipidemia: 135 mg orally once daily
The following adult dose recommendations are only for FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet marketed as the trade name FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet (TM):
Periodic determination of serum lipids should be obtained during initial therapy in order to establish the lowest effective dose of FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet. Therapy should be withdrawn in patients who do not have an adequate response after 2 months of treatment with the maximum recommended dose of 105 mg daily.
Primary Hyperlipidemia or Mixed Dyslipidemia: 105 mg orally once daily

Initial dose: 35 to 105 mg orally daily.
Maintenance: Dosage should be individualized according to patient response, and should be adjusted if necessary following repeat lipid determinations at 4 to 8 week intervals.

You may take FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet with or without food.

If you also take cholestyramine (Questran), colesevelam (Welchol), or colestipol (Colestid), take these medicines at least 1 hour after taking FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet, or 4 to 6 hours before taking FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet. Do not take any of these medicines at the same time you take FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet.

"Statin" cholesterol-lowering medications may be taken at the same time as FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet.

FIBRICOR 105 MG Oral Tablet is only part of a complete program of treatment that may also include diet, exercise, weight control, and other medications. Follow your diet, medication, and exercise routines very closely.
