What is Famogal

Famogal a histamine-2 blockers. Famogal works by decreasing the amount of acid the stomach produces.
Famogal is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. It also treats conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Famogal also treats gastroesophageal reflux disease and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn.
Famogal may also be used for purposes not listed in Famogal guide.

Famogal side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using Famogal and call your doctor at once if you have:

fast or pounding heartbeats with severe dizziness; or
unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness especially if you also have fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine.

Common side effects may include:

headache;

constipation or diarrhea.

Famogal dosing

Usual Adult Dose for Duodenal Ulcer:

Initial:
Parenteral: 20 mg IV every 12 hours. Alternatively, some clinicians recommend a continuous IV infusion of 3.2 mg/hour for up to 72 hours following a 10 mg IV bolus dose.
Oral: 40 mg orally once a day at bedtime or 20 mg orally twice a day.
Maintenance: 20 mg orally or IV once a day at bedtime.

Usual Adult Dose for Peptic Ulcer:
